Justyna Jaworska in an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Polish Culture, Faculty of Polish Studies, University of Warsaw. Her research interests include the history of Polish culture in the 19th and 20th centuries, with a focus on image and visual anthropology, customs, popular culture and fashion theory. She edits the Polish drama section of “Dialog”, which is published monthly. Her published works include, among others „Piękne widoki, panowie, stąd macie.” O kinie polskiego sockonsumpcjonizmu (Beautiful Views, Gentlemen, Hence You Have It: About the Cinema of Polish Socialist Consumptionism), which was awarded the Bolesław Michałek Award for Best Book on Film in 2019. The book was also awarded in 2020 by the Polish Film and Media Research Association for the best book on film studies. Additionally, the author is a member of the jury for the esteemed Polish literary prize “Nike”.
